Somali Dirac
It is the traditional dress of Somali women, and it is believed that its origins go back to northern Somalia. It is considered to be the dress of Somali women in weddings and daily life. It is wide and characterized by motifs, inscriptions, silk lines and embroidery. It is worn on a daily basis and is made of cloth (wail, meaning plain and matte), and in most cases it is plain. Without embroidery and worn at home. As for the dress that is worn at weddings, events and visits, it is usually made of natural gergit fabric and embroidered with either golden threads or silver lines, or the dress is embroidered with pieces made of pure gold. The heaviest silk with a thick texture, usually dominated by dark colors, and the uniform (Dirac) is plain or embroidered with silver or gold silk threads.
